Pix from the
February, 2004, Winter War Reenactment in Rensselaer, Indiana!
This KevOs4 group has members from coast to coast. Usual activities are living
history displays and speeches to community groups and militaria associations.
Once or twice a year, we get together as a group and re-enact a battle from the Winter War.
The Rensselaer
site in Indiana hosts many different re-enactment events each year including German / Russian
events and German / Allies events. There is a lot of armor on the site and it is
a great place to
get together with other people who study the war history in Europe.

There is a new cabin on the property especially
built for the re-enactors, by re-enactors.
Inside the cabin. It is setup with original gear
hanging on the walls.

snowfield.
The Russian group brought a gas powered Russian Maxim.
Fortunately for us, it never got hauled into action!

Squad #1 in Rensselaer, 2003. We had 2 squads in
the field.
Reenacting events from 2002 and 2003.
And it was about 20 degrees below freezing in Rensselaer, Indiana!!!
The Russians had us outnumbered in Rensselaer 3 to 1 and they had a very
good group. They put a lot of effort into
authenticity.
Vic at Rensselaer with
a fearsome SVT40. It became obvious to us
that we would need more firepowerlike this to defeat the
Russians in the forests.

Matti and
son lifting weights in the forest. This maxim machine gun with tripod is
very heavy. Note the Finnish ammo
